The Unique Name Field provides individual "flavor" names for Units. Units will still contain the Unit Description in Parenthesis after the Unique Name.
Though most fields have the name entered directly, it is also possible to use references to the CIV4GameText_FFH2 file so that players using a different language may utilize translated Names. However since the names are typically proper nouns that is typically not required.
